Kansas State officially hired legendary former quarterback Collin Klein as coach, the program announced Thursday. Klein, 36, had most recently served as Texas A&M's offensive coordinator. He succeeds Chris Klieman, who retired Wednesday, and 247Sports had reported Klein was in line to be the next head man in charge for the Wildcats.
Though Klein will still carry out his offensive coordinator job through the College Football Playoff for the Aggies, the Texas A&M Football X page still got the emotion out of the way early with a tender graphic thanking the former quarterback for his two years in College Station.
The Collin County program only accepts "open-minded" first-time offenders with an eligible case and an attorney. Court records show 12 have been accepted and two more have pending applications.
